Think like an Engineer: Encouraging Oklahoma Students to Engage
in STEAM
Open for Business Oklahoma members are dedicated to the communities where they work and live. From providing essential services to volunteering at community nonprofits, people helping people happens in diverse ways. Engineers keep critical infrastructure working in our towns and cities, from water treatment and electricity to bridge and highway safety.
Sharing that knowledge with students helps inspire the next generation of engineers. In support of Oklahoma’s teachers, our “Think Like an Engineer” series offers six science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) lessons. Their content is designed to help middle school students put textbook concepts into hands-on practice.
We are proud to support our members in their work and their outreach efforts.
Pencils from Protractors: School Supply Drive
Open for Business Oklahoma members serve the community we share in diverse ways. Our Pencils from Protractors School Supply Drive during summer 2020 came just in time to help students transition to in-person learning with much-needed items. Facilitating student learning is helps pave the path for engineers and other STEAM professionals in the future, and we're proud to be part of that.
